Caption:
This transmission electron microscopic (TEM) image reveals a longitudinally-, and transaxially-sectioned cylindrical confronting cisternae (CCC), which was located in the cytoplasm of a lymph node lymphocyte. This lymph node tissue sample was extracted from a biopsy specimen, harvested from a patient with lymphadenopathy, due to a human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) infection. The lymphocyte’s nucleus can be seen on the right.
