This photograph depicts the third of eleven steps (PHIL 5738-5748) to be followed when one properly performs the activity of handwashing. After turning on the water, and regulating its warm temperature, and prewetting both hands, it’s time to apply hand soap. Careful hand hygiene is essential in laboratories. Persons should wash their hands after they handle hazardous materials, after removing gloves, and before leaving the laboratory.
